Only SGD$5 for a Carl’s Junior BBQ Bacon Burger! ( in China )
In Shanghai, it costs only SGD$5 for a Carl's Junior BBQ Bacon Burger! In Singapore it would be about $8 to $10 I think. Haiz, nothing in China is helping me to diet…….. ( cheap milk tea, cheap junk food )
In Shanghai for 138 RMB, We Had a Relatively Authentic Japanese Buffet at 和樱日本料理 Wazakura Japanese Restaurant
Who says that you can't find good sushi in Shanghai? At this LongZiMeng Shopping mall which is near our house, I managed to find this Wazakura Japanese restaurant which offers a good and authentic buffet lunch for just 138 RMB ( after discount ).

I Finally Found Authentic Japanese Ramen in Shanghai!
I am a Japanese food lover but I don't really like ramen in particular because I think that they are overpriced and not so oishii that you have to queue for over 30 minutes to get a bowl. (For example, Ippudo in Singapore). However, ever since I arrived in Shanghai, I noticed that the Japanese ramen here is relatively much cheaper and I don't have to wait for even 10 minutes to get a bowl. Ajisen ramen is almost everywhere in Shanghai ( as it is in Singapore lol) and the first one which I tried was naturally at their shop but the taste is ……….. Anyway, I discovered this "Fukushima Ramen" near my place and boy, I am glad that I found it!
Ramen in Shanghai is pretty cheap. The authentic ramen found at this "Fukushima Ramen" shop costs an average of 30 yuan per bowl. That is about SGD$6. Here's a comparison of prices of ramen:
- Ajisen Ramen Singapore: ~$15
- Ajisen Ramen Shanghai: ~$5 (25 yuan)
- Ippudo Ramen Singapore: ~$17
- Ippudo Ramen Tokyo: ~$11 (700 yen)
- Authentic Ramen in Shanghai: ~$6 (30 yuan)
Here's how the ramen which we ordered looked like:
Fukushima ramen, added portion, thin noodle, normal gravy, tonkotsu base – 34 yuan
Miso tonkotsu ramen, thin noodle, normal gravy – 30 yuan
Chashuu ramen, thin noodle, normal gravy, tonkotsu base – 35 yuan
This particular shop is flooded with Japanese businessmen usually after working hours and the atmosphere is very good!
